Due to everyone’s busy schedule during the summer, Women’s Ministry doesn’t provide a structured weekly large-group Bible study. We encourage you to organize your own in-home small-group book studies. This is a great time to get to know the women in your area by doing a study you choose. If you need suggestions, we recommend the following. All resources, with the exception of MARK VOL. 1, are available on Amazon. We hope you have a blessed summer of getting to know each other and the Lord as you gather around His precious Word.
See y’all in the Fall!
MARK VOLUME 1 WORKBOOK – In Fall 2019 we will return to our study of the Gospel of Mark, picking up where we left off last fall. If you weren’t able to join us in our study of Mark 1-8 last fall, you can purchase that workbook for $20 at the church office and use your time this summer to catch up. The 10-week workbook is packed with pictures, definitions, and additional information, and the audio teachings are available to enhance your study. (Contact Kristy Tracy at firstname.lastname@example.org for the audio links or visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/cbcpwomen/ )
EVEN BETTER THAN EDEN by Nancy Guthrie - The Bible is often summarized as creation, fall, redemption, and restoration. But we're destined for more! From the beginning, God's story has been headed toward consummation and glory. Guthrie traces nine themes that reveal God's plan for a new creation that's far more magnificent than the original---and explains how to recognize signs of it now.
NOT A FAN by Kyle Idleman - Are you a follower of Jesus? Not a Fan calls you to consider the demands and rewards of being a true disciple. With frankness sprinkled with humor, Idleman invites you to live the way Jesus lived, love the way he loved, pray the way he prayed, and never give up living for the One who gave his all for you. Easy to read and discuss.
COUNTER CULTURE and/or RADICAL by David Platt –
In COUNTER CULTURE, David Platt provides a gospel perspective on issues such as poverty, abortion, sex trafficking, and racism, as well the legalization of same-sex marriage, the controversial transgender issue, and the overwhelming refugee crisis. Drawing on compelling personal accounts from around the world, Platt presents an unapologetic yet winsome call for Christians to faithfully follow Christ in an anti-Christian age in ways that will prove both costly and rewarding.
RADICAL takes you on a transforming journey in authentic discipleship. As the pastor of a large and wealthy congregation, David Platt began to see a discrepancy between the reality of his Church and the way Jesus said His followers lived. In Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream, Platt examines how American Christianity has manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences and challenges readers to rediscover the path.

TREASURING CHRIST WHEN YOUR HANDS ARE FULL by Gloria Furman - In this encouraging book for frazzled moms, Gloria Furman, a pastor's wife and mother of four, encourages us to reorient our vision of motherhood around what the Bible teaches. Showing us how to pursue a vibrant and ever-growing relationship with Christ—even when discouragement sets in and the laundry still needs to be washed—this book will help you treasure Christ more deeply no matter how busy you are.)
THE GOSPEL COMES WITH A HOUSE KEY by Rosario Butterfield - The word “hospitality” can often create various levels of anxiety because of the perfect images of fashionably dressed hosts and impeccable homes that media and culture bombard us with. Butterfield casts a far more reassuring and ordinary vision for what hospitality should actually look like using engaging stories from her own experiences of being on the receiving end of radically ordinary hospitality. Butterfield shows how one’s simple, but authentic, welcome can become a bridge for the gospel to reach the lost friends and neighbors in your life.
