Welcome to Kids of Canyon!

Our Kids of Canyon ministry aims to partner with parents in the evangelism and discipleship of their children. We want to teach little ones from newborns to 11 year olds about the person of God and the gospel of God. As we do this each Sunday, our prayer is that it would also allow parents to attend the sunday gathering with a bit more focused attention on fellowship with the saints, prayer, worship through song, and hearing God's word preached. We also provide tools and resources to help equip parents in the joyfully difficult task of parenting. On Sundays, you can check-in your kids from newborns to 11 year olds at the entrance to the education wing on the right hand side as you enter the lobby. Our check-in station contains tablets used to print labels that help us to ensure the safety of your children throughout the morning, and there will be a real live human at the check-in station to serve you in any way you may need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about our mission and what you can expect when you visit us!

How do you split up the classes?

Our classrooms are split into age groups of 0-2 years, 2-4 years, 4-7 years, and 8-11 years. There is intentional overlap that allows for our staff to coordinate with parents regarding the classroom that best fits their individual child.

Are your volunteers background checked?

Yes! All our Kids of Canyon adult volunteers go through an onboarding process that includes a background check, child abuse prevention training, reference checks, and an interview with our director.

How do volunteers handle bathroom breaks?

Bathroom breaks are handled differently based on the age of the child. In the nursery (0-2) diapers may be changed by our female nursery volunteers with parental permission. In our toddler classroom (2-4) those children who are potty trained may use the "tiny toilet" in the restroom attached to the classroom. For those children who are still in diapers, our volunteers will contact a parent if the child needs changed. In the 4-7 and 8-11 classrooms, the children may use the restroom as needed with remote (outside the restroom) supervision.

What curriculum do you teach?

In Kids of Canyon we are committed to faithfully teaching the kids the Word of God at a level that is digestible for them. Our toddler teachers use the Jesus Storybook Bible, and the elementary teachers use the Generations of Grace curriculum. If you have questions or concerns about our curriculum, please feel free to contact the deacon or director.
